Activities
Activity groups are the core of Newcomers. They provide opportunities to make friends and enjoy your favorite activities. Some of the activities listed may change slightly each year. Our members create new groups and their leadership is a vital part of Nipomo Newcomers and Social Club.
Card & Table Games
Bridge
Intermediate to Advanced Bridge is offered, meeting in the Blacklake Community Room. Intermediate to advanced level players are welcome to join the groups.
Bridge 1: 2nd and 3rd Wednesday at 1:00pm
Bridge 2: 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th Friday at 1:00 pm
Bunco
Bunco groups meet monthly in the
Blacklake Community Room.
Both groups are open to new members.
Bunco 1: 3rd Wednesday at 5:30 pm
Bunco 2: 2nd Monday at 1:00 PM
Samba 1 and 2
Meets monthly at various homes.
All members are welcome to join.
Hand & Foot 1: 2nd Wednesday at 1:00 PM
Hand & Foot 2: 4th Thursday at 1:00 PM
Dominoes / Mexican Train
Meets monthly in the Blacklake Community Room.
All members are welcome to join in the fun!
Mexican Train: 2nd Friday at 1:00 pm and 3rd Tuesday at 2:00 pm
Mahjong
Meets in the Blacklake Community Room.
Open to members with knowledge of how to play the game.
Mahjong: 1st, 3rd, and 5th Monday at 12:30 PM
Women's Poker
Meets in the Blacklake Community Room.
Open to members with basic poker skills.
Women’s Poker: Days vary
Beach Walkers
Meets at Grover Beach. Members walk at their own pace with either the ‘turtles’ or the ‘hares.’ The group sometimes goes to a local restaurant for coffee or a snack after their walk. This group welcomes new members.
Beach Walkers: 1st & 3rd Mondays at 9:00 AM
Hiking Groups
Newcomers offers two different hiking groups. Locations vary each time. All members are welcome to participate.
Women’s Hiking: 2nd & 4th Monday at 9:00 AM
Special Interest Groups
Book Groups
These book groups each take turns meeting at members’ homes, so the group size is limited. Both groups are currently open to women only.
Book Group 1: 3rd Wednesday at 1:30 PM
Book Group 2: 3rd Monday at 1:00 PM
Book Group 3: 2nd Tuesday at 12:30 pm
Food & Libations
Lunch Bunch
Groups meet at various local restaurants for lunch and socializing.
Size is limited, but new members are welcome to join when space is available.
Lunch Bunch 1: 4th Wednesday at Noon
Lunch Bunch 2: 1st Thursday at Noon
TGIF
TGIF groups meet once a month at members’ homes for socializing. Each member or couple brings an appetizer and favorite beverage. Group size is limited, but new members are welcome when space is available.

5:30 PM on different Fridays.
